Exciting Eggs for All

They may seem like an everyday staple or convenience food but the humble egg is actually really nutritious – they’re high in protein and also packed with a number of vitamins & minerals. Eggs are also highly versatile, with a wide range of ways to cook them. This season we’ve introduced a new range of egg gadgets, all designed to help you perfectly cook a variety of different egg styles quickly and easily. Find out more about how each of the tools work here and the best ways to use them.

A new & healthier way to cook

FROACH PODS™

An entirely new and healthier way of cooking eggs, Froach Pods™ use the concepts of frying and poaching to create evenly cooked eggs using 95% less oil than regular frying.

How to use:
  1. Pre-heat a non-stick pan on med-high until hot.
  2. Add a small amount of oil to the inside edge of the egg ring and place it in the pan. Important: Do not place any oil on the base edge that will touch the pan or in the pan itself.
  3. Crack your egg into the central hole in the egg ring.
  4. After 30 seconds, add 1 tbsp. of water to the reservoir at the top.
  5. When the water has drained or boiled dry (approx. 30 secs), add another tbsp. of water and continue to repeat until the egg is cooked to your taste.
  6. Using the tab, carefully lift off the egg ring. Serve the egg using a fish slice or our Elevate™ Egg Spatula. Caution: hot steam can burn.
Ways to serve:

A bit like a fried egg, froached eggs go perfectly with a healthier full English breakfast but are also delicious on toast.

Try it:

Top freshly toasted brown bread with sliced avocado and finish off with a froached egg.

The tool you never knew you needed

O-TONGS™

O-Tongs™ are a simple, yet effective gadget that holds the egg securely during cooking. They make adding or removing them from boiling water much easier and safer and, as they rest on the side of the pan, help to prevent breakages. Having two different coloured tongs also means you can time each egg perfectly and for separate lengths of time if you wish.

Boiling times for the perfect egg:

Soft boiled: 3-4 minutes

Hard boiled: 8-10 minutes

Ways to serve:

Boiled eggs themselves are so versatile - cut the tops off soft-boiled eggs and dip toasted soldiers in them or chop hard-boiled eggs and mix with mayonnaise for a tasty sandwich filling. Hard-boiled eggs also make a yummy salad topper while soft-boiled can be wrapped in sausage meat and breadcrumbs and fried to make delicious homemade Scotch eggs.

Try it:

Add tuna, olives and green beans to your favourite salad leaves then top with sliced hard-boiled eggs for an easy salad Niçoise.

A multi-functional egg-ssential

ELEVATE™ EGG SPATULA

Our Elevate™ Egg Spatula is great for a number of different tasks as its multi-function head can be used for scrambling, turning omelettes and even serving fried or froached eggs from a hot pan.

SCRAMBLING
How it works:

The tip of the spatula head is firm which makes it ideal for stirring and breaking up scrambled eggs in a pan.

Ways to serve:

Scrambled eggs also go great with a full English breakfast or, for a special treat, add them to toast and top with smoked salmon.

OMELETTES
How it works:

The longest edge of the spatula is soft and flexible which makes turning omelettes much easier.

Ways to serve:

For extra flavour, add toppings to your omelette before turning. You can be as creative as you like but cheese and ham always makes a tasty dish. Serve with a side salad for a main meal or just enjoy on its own for breakfast or lunch.

FRYING / FROACHING
How it works:

The wide, flat face of the spatula makes it an ideal surface for lifting fried or froached eggs without the risk of breakages.

Ways to serve:

Enjoy fried or froached eggs as part of a full English breakfast or add them to a bacon or sausage sandwich.

Perfect poaching every time!

M-POACH™

Poaching eggs can be a tricky task but with our clever M-Poach™ you can now cook them perfectly every time and in just a matter of minutes using your microwave.

How it works:
  1. Fill the poacher with water and heat briefly in the microwave.
  2. Remove from the microwave and break in an egg.
  3. Cover with the lid and microwave on full power for the specified time.
  4. To serve, simply lift and drain the cooked egg with the integrated colander.
Ways to serve:

Poached eggs are great on English muffins. Simply toast the muffin and top with your egg or add ham & hollandaise sauce to create a quick and easy Eggs Benedict.

POACH-PRO™

Fancy a bit more of a challenge? Poach-Pro™ allows you to easily make professional-style poached eggs, with the option to infuse them with flavours while they cook.

How it works:
  1. Unscrew the egg ring and place a piece of cling film or plastic wrap* (30 x 30 cm) over the base. (Use cling film/plastic wrap that is certified for use in direct contact with fatty foods, up 100°C)
  2. Brush or spray the surface of the cling film with a small amount of olive oil.
  3. Crack an egg into the poacher base onto the cling film.
  4. Add any herbs or spices (if using) to infuse your egg.
  5. Fold the cling film over the top of the egg and screw the top ring onto the base to seal.
  6. Using the serrated teeth, tear away any excess cling film.
  7. Carefully place the poacher face-up into a pan of gently simmering water.
  8. Half way through the cooking time, flip the poacher over using a fork.
  9. When cooked, remove the poacher from the pan and allow it to cool slightly. Unscrew the ring and lift out the cling film pouch.
  10. Carefully tear open and serve.

Caution: Hot steam can burn. Do not allow the pan to boil dry.

Ways to serve:

By adding flavours to your poached eggs you can make them really special without having to add a lot of other ingredients. Serve them simply on fresh toast or muffins.

Mess-free yolks

YOLKCATCHER™

As well as being delicious on their own, eggs are often used as a binding ingredient in a number of recipes and sometimes this calls for the yolks and whites to be separated. YolkCatcher™ makes this an easy and mess-free task by allowing you to separate up to 6 eggs at the same time and collecting the whites in its base.

How to use:
  1. Simply break your egg on the integrated egg cracker at the top and empty into the top section.
  2. The yolk will remain there whilst the white will pass through to the bottom container.
  3. When you’re done, the separate whites and yolks can be used for your recipes.
Ways to serve:

Whisk egg whites to stiff peaks and slowly add caster sugar to create a deliciously simple meringue. Alternatively, add sugar and cream to egg yolks to create a tasty homemade custard.

Try it:

Add lemon juice and zest to your custard then use it to top meringue nests for an quick and easy dessert.
