A Right Royal Visit!
We’re delighted to say that we’ve been awarded the Queen’s Award for Enterprise in Innovation 2018 and, yesterday, the team at Joseph Joseph were lucky enough to receive a visit from Her Royal Highness the Princess Royal, no less, to be officially presented with the award.
The Queen’s Award for Enterprise is an awards programme for British businesses that excel at international trade, innovation or sustainable development and is recognised as the highest official accolade for UK businesses.
We’re proud to say this is actually the second Queen’s Award that Joseph Joseph has received, after winning the award for International Trade in 2017.
This year we were recognised specifically for the design and development of our Totem Waste Separation & Recycling Units, which are helping to revolutionise the way we all deal with household waste. Designed by PearsonLloyd, Totem is available in a variety of sizes and a range of colours, to suit different waste requirements and kitchen styles.
During the visit, Her Royal Highness discovered more about the development of Totem through our showroom displays and how our global business operates from our head office in Southwark, London.
Many of us were able to speak with the Princess Royal as she toured our open plan offices, learning more about the company and the projects we’re currently working on.
Finally, Her Royal Highness unveiled a plaque to commemorate the visit and officially presented the Queen’s Award to our founders, Antony and Richard Joseph.
It goes without saying, the visit was a huge privilege and accolade for the business and we’re over the moon, both to receive our second Queen’s Award and to have the honour of meeting the Princess Royal.
