Manufacturing defect?
"I bought this tool to grate garlic and slice carrots. Upon receipt I realize the grate and the slicer are on opposite sides. Making it so I can’t use the guard and press for the grate; only for the slice. Is this intentional?"

Not Interchangeable - Doesn't save your fingers
"As others have said the finger guard is only for the slicer and not for grating. You should be able to flip it over and pop the grey bit on to the grating side. Big design error that you can't see from the packaging. I wanted this item to save my fingers grating ginger and garlic but I have had some bloody fingers from this. Just make it interchangeable! And yes - it would be possible as the slicer is on the other side."

"What on earth was the concept behind this. I bought it thinking it was going to be perfect for grating garlic. Turns out you can't grate with the little holder protector. Only the backside is the grater???????"

Grater not protected.
"My issue. Which seems other have had. The grater is not on the side with the protection. So you cannot use this to protect your fingers when grating. Only used this part a day after my return window. So not stuck with a slicer that does not grate."
It slices but the grater
"It slices but the grater part seems to be the wrong side it will not grater garlic at all...it will on the reverse side but not the side with the slider on that protects your fingers which is why I bought it"

"I do wish I’d read these reviews before buying. An absolute design fault by a company I’ve always associated with good design. Bought this specifically because I end up grating my knuckles and guess what if I use it I still do!! A very simple solution of putting grooves on both sides for the slider would have solved this problem. Very disappointed!"
